Local Chicagoland Dental office Supports Head Start/Early Head Start Programs

Chicago, Illinois Dec 2, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Sonrisa Family Dental was created and founded in 2004 by Jason Korkus DDS, under the philosophy "Healthy Smiles, Means Healthy Communities." Currently, Dr. Korkus owns and operates 10 practices throughout Chicago and the surrounding areas serving over 150,000 patients a year.
Understanding its ample social responsibility to Chicago's underserved communities; Sonrisa Family Dental began the mission of delivering holistic treatment to all patients by centralizing its practices in federally qualified health centers and hospitals throughout Chicago. Those locations include Little Village, South Shore, Humboldt Park, Back of the Yards, Chicago Heights, Gage Park, and Evergreen Park.
Sonrisa Family Dental purposely launched Sonrisa Mobile in 2012, in hopes of treating high-risk children. Sonrisa Family Dental has actively operated a school-based preventive dental program, focusing on treating and educating children and parents on oral health through health fairs, webinars, workshops. Since 2012, Sonrisa Mobile has reached over 500 daycares, HS (Head Start)/ EHS (Early Head start), after school programs, where more than 31,000 children have received preventative dental care.
Sonrisa Family Dental's commitment to the communities is demonstrated through providing dental education, open access to clinics, and outreach services to community residents.
About Dr. Jason Korkus
Dr. Jason Korkus is a Chicago native who grew up in New Buffalo, MI. He is the youngest of three children and takes pride in his ability to have become a bilingual Spanish-speaking professional. Dr. Korkus obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology degree with a minor in Neuroscience from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. He currently operates several dental practices throughout Chicago and the Chicagoland area.
